What will we do together?

As a Lead Scala Engineer, you will:

• Co-create custom software, that will impact large numbers of users in Scandinavia and beyond
• Work in a distributed team with co-located and remote colleagues
• Actively participate in system architecture and product decisions
• Design and build modern and highly available containerised backend solutions
• Work closely with our clients to align on the work which needs to be done and act as an advisor
• Aspire to become a thought leader and spokesperson of tretton37 at the client
• Design and build services using serverless computing and cloud technologies
• Constantly help your colleagues grow and work better through code reviews and pair programming
• Participate in discussions, facilitate workshops, and share knowledge about topics of your expertise
• Continuously enhance ways of working regarding relationships, tools and best practices

We believe you have:

• Approximately 6 years of relevant professional experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• A passion for technology, sharing knowledge, and enabling others
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to build strong relationships on different levels with the client
• A fundamental understanding of Scala, including features such as higher-order functions, type inference, and pattern matching
• Excellent understanding of functional programming principles and design patterns
• Relational and non-relational database management systems, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and MongoDB
• Experience in event-driven architecture
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience with testing frameworks, such as ScalaTest and specs2
• Experience with and understanding of relational or NoSQL databases
• Experience with REST and frameworks like SpringBoot
• A tool belt equipped with automation, build, and performance tools

• Experience in building performant backends serving high-traffic global services
